This lovely flute is an old Haynes, serial # 21XX [visible in pictures], featuring grenadilla wood construction with sterling silver keys and original gold springs. The G# spring catch has gone missing over time and that key is floppy due to needing the spring catch replaced however all of the other springs function properly. The mechanism is closed hole featuring Y arms, offset G (w/ old-school G trill), C-B trill & C foot w/ double rollers. The pads are older so we'd recommend a full repad if not thorough overhaul from age & sitting. We closely examined this flute and found no cracks to note. The only thing is the typical minute chip near the D tonehole where the foot connects. This is merely cosmetic and does not affect the D tonehole itself. Excellent piece which reflects quality craftsmanship of Haynes from the early 1900s. The wood grain is striking & deep. Included is an old wooden French-style case that has no Haynes plaque but we believe it may be original. Flute is being sold as-is and is NOT in playable condition. This flute is believed to be low pitch at A-435hz. Due to the value of this flute we recommend Express shipping!
